A simple recipe for a tasty and healthy mid-day snack! Lovely vegan cheesy puffs with a turmeric twist! Perfect to refuel you on a busy day or to munch on during movie night!
3 cups of puffed sorghum (or any puffed cereal)
2 Tbsp Coconut Oil (liquified)
2 Tbsp Nutritional Yeast
1/2 Tbsp Himalayan Pink Salt
1 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp black pepper powder
Pre heat the oven to 180C.
Line a baking tray or sheet with parchment paper. Spread the puffed sorghum in a thin layer and bake for 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven when done.
Keep an eye on it after 5 minutes as you do not want the cereal to burn. It needs to get warm and crisp.
While the cereal is baking, whizz all the dry ingredients including the nutritional yeast, salt, turmeric and pepper together until it becomes a fine powder.
Add the coconut oil to the spice mix and mix till well combined.
Place the baked puffed sorghum in a bag or a box. While it is still warm, drizzle the spiced and flavoured coconut oil-mix over the cereal.
Seal the bag or box and shake it thoroughly for a few minutes so that the spice blend thoroughly coats the cereal.
Eat immediately or store in an air tight box once cooled.
